The Code of Conduct against the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Teens associated with travel and tourism.
The Code of Conduct came up as an initiative of ECPAT International (End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Traffiking of Childres for Sexual Purposes), and is supported by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). It is developed in both: countries of origin and countries of destination. It aims for and promotes the participation and active commitment of the tourism industry to discourage and punish commercial, sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.
The Code of Conduct incorporates actions of tourism and relates companies as well as key players such as public entities and competent NGOs in order to modify and eradicate the factors that encourage the commercial sexual exploitation of children through travel and tourism.
Cala Lodge is a subscriber of the Code as of December 2016, as a sign of the commitment against the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Teens associated with travel and tourism.
